ATTENTION!!!! NEW BLOG!!

We want to let everyone know how sorry we are that this has taken so long. We have had so much going on. Between Dan losing his job, starting his own business working from home, and then adopting again, our new baby girl Sydney, then the holidays, needless to say, we have been super busy. Instead of trying to keep up 3 blogs, one for the family, one for Ian, and one for Sydney,...we decided to save time and make it easy, we would create a new blog to serve all purposes. So here is the new blog address and we will be updating the new one from now on. We hope you enjoy! Love to all our family and friends!

My First Haircut!

Well,....daddy said that Ian looked like he had a "baby comb-over" so we decided it was time to get a haircut. I just didn't want to do it until now because first I wanted to have enough hair to cut off to put in his baby book. I also knew that after he got his haircut then he would no longer look like my little baby. It instantly changed him from my little baby to a little boy. It makes me a little sad but I knew it was time. He look so so cute with his new haircut! Daddy loves it too. He calls him his "little butchy hair boy".
Here are a few before pictures, and then some after pictures and a video of when we did it. He was tired before we even started which probably didn't help at all. My friend Kelli cut it while I held him and my other friend Caroline took the video. We didn't tape the whole thing, but he got very very upset towards the end. I guess he just couldn't take anymore.

He was so tired, but he still did good.
And now he looks like a little boy! So cute!

Ian's first swim of the season!

It was really hot out this week so our neighborbor who has a dog that is as big as a horse (almost literally) bought a little doggie pool to bathe his dog but the dog was too big for it so he gave it to us. It is the perfect size for Ian! Thanks "Feeds". Ian was a little apprehensive, but then he kind of decided it was like the bathtub. He still didn't want to stay in very long. He looks cute in his swimming garb though. I tried to put on his 18-month old swim trunks and they were waaaay to big, so I put on his last year trunks, I think they are 6-month and they still fit him great so that's what he is wearing along with the hat that matches. He looks so cute in his sunglasses!

Ian has his first skinned knee

This week when it was really warm out I put Ian's shorts on him and Daddy took him outside to let him walk around. Well he hasn't been walking very long so he is still a little unsteady. While in the driveway he fell and got his very first skinned knee. It didn't phase him though, he just got right back up and started walking around some more. I'm sure it's the first of many since he loves to explore and seems to have no fear. He seems to have a high tolerance for pain. It's either that, or discovering and getting into things is way more fun and important than some silly skinned knee!

His hair looks so blonde in this picture, but it normally doesn't look so blonde.

Ian playing with Daddy

Ian loves magazines and newspapers and likes to shred things whenever he does get ahold of them. One day he got ahold of a newspaper and started shredding it, so he and daddy just started playing with it. Who knew there could be so much fun with an ordinary newspaper?

Not sure if you can tell but Ian has such long eyelashes! They're beautiful!

Prom 2009

Well, another Prom has come and gone. Whitley is growing up before our very eyes. While we are talking about Whitley, I just want to express our love and appreciation for her. We have been so blessed to have a daughter like her. She is helpful, kind, sweet, and just a genuinly good girl. We are truly dreading the day when she leaves for college. There will be a large void in our home that we all will feel, especially Ian who loves her so much and looks up to her. We love you so much monkee! That said, here are some beautiful pictures of a sweet little girl, who really isn't so little anymore.

This is her date Joe Packer. They have gone together the last 2 years.

This is the group they went with. From left to right, Whitley, Joe, Richard, Christina, Ashley B., Ashley S., Charlie.

The ice cream truck had just pulled up when we were taking pictures and wanted to see Whitley.

Whitley looks so beautiful!

Easter......

After church on Easter, Ian went up for a nap and when he woke up we were going to go to Ravenna where Dan's brother and his wife live for Easter dinner, but here are some pictures of before we left.

This video is so cute because Ian had just woke up and we didn't tell him to give Whitley kisses, he just did it. It was so adorable. Also, since it is Easter and we have been especially counting our blessings, we wanted to let Ian's birth-family know how very greatful we are for the blessings of this little boy. He has brought immeasurable joy to our home and our family, and we just want you to know how much we love him and how much we love your family. We have been so blessed. He will always know how much he is loved by our family and your family!

Easter was nice. We had pretty nice weather, not super warm but nice. We went to Uncle Tom & Aunt Cory's house because they were having Easter dinner. It was nice. They went to a lot of work and we appreciate that. Here are some pictures of the whole clan.

Finally!!! I can walk at almost 16 months!

So Dan and I decided that we needed to go to the temple so while Whitley was on spring break from school we went down to Columbus. Whitley played with Ian all day while we were gone. The funny thing is that that day she taught him to walk. When we left he wasn't walking at all and then when we got home he was literally doing laps around the house. It was so cute to see him walk. It's funny too because he doesn't know how to get back up on his feet, so if he falls, and he wants to walk again, he will whine until someone puts him on his feet again. so these clips are of his first day walking on April 8th, 2009.

Another milestone,.........I will now drink out of a sippy cup!

All these months we couldn't get Ian to drink from anything other than a regular cup that we would hold for him. We think it was because it was too much effort to get just a little liquid out of some of the sippy cups so he just got impatient and would get really mad if we tried to make him drink from a sippy cup. I finally found one by recommendation of his pediatrician that has a straw and that he can get a decent amount out of quickly. It took some doing to teach him how to work a straw but he finally got it. YAY!

Sissy plays with me all the time!

Whitley is always playing wih Ian. She can get him to laugh like noone else can. They are so fun to watch together.

This is "The Bee", as so demonstrated on Grampa Haws' children and Grand-children and Whitley is now passing it on to Ian.

Ready to be Daddy's little helper!

I was fixing Ian's carseat which required the drill, and Ian just thought it was the greatest thing, so he came over to try it out. I took the drill bit out of it and he sat there pulling the trigger on and off, he loved it because it spins, and he loves ANYTHING that spins.

And this is Ian with his little bubble mower. Not quite warm enough outside, but soon,...........
