ATTENTION!!!! NEW BLOG!!
We want to let everyone know how sorry we are that this has taken so long. We have had so much going on. Between Dan losing his job, starting his own business working from home, and then adopting again, our new baby girl Sydney, then the holidays, needless to say, we have been super busy. Instead of trying to keep up 3 blogs, one for the family, one for Ian, and one for Sydney,...we decided to save time and make it easy, we would create a new blog to serve all purposes. So here is the new blog address and we will be updating the new one from now on. We hope you enjoy! Love to all our family and friends!

My First Haircut!
Well,....daddy said that Ian looked like he had a "baby comb-over" so we decided it was time to get a haircut. I just didn't want to do it until now because first I wanted to have enough hair to cut off to put in his baby book. I also knew that after he got his haircut then he would no longer look like my little baby. It instantly changed him from my little baby to a little boy. It makes me a little sad but I knew it was time. He look so so cute with his new haircut! Daddy loves it too. He calls him his "little butchy hair boy".
Here are a few before pictures, and then some after pictures and a video of when we did it. He was tired before we even started which probably didn't help at all. My friend Kelli cut it while I held him and my other friend Caroline took the video. We didn't tape the whole thing, but he got very very upset towards the end. I guess he just couldn't take anymore.
He was so tired, but he still did good.
And now he looks like a little boy! So cute!

Ian playing with Daddy
Ian loves magazines and newspapers and likes to shred things whenever he does get ahold of them. One day he got ahold of a newspaper and started shredding it, so he and daddy just started playing with it. Who knew there could be so much fun with an ordinary newspaper?
Not sure if you can tell but Ian has such long eyelashes! They're beautiful!

Easter......
After church on Easter, Ian went up for a nap and when he woke up we were going to go to Ravenna where Dan's brother and his wife live for Easter dinner, but here are some pictures of before we left.

This video is so cute because Ian had just woke up and we didn't tell him to give Whitley kisses, he just did it. It was so adorable. Also, since it is Easter and we have been especially counting our blessings, we wanted to let Ian's birth-family know how very greatful we are for the blessings of this little boy. He has brought immeasurable joy to our home and our family, and we just want you to know how much we love him and how much we love your family. We have been so blessed. He will always know how much he is loved by our family and your family!

Easter was nice. We had pretty nice weather, not super warm but nice. We went to Uncle Tom & Aunt Cory's house because they were having Easter dinner. It was nice. They went to a lot of work and we appreciate that. Here are some pictures of the whole clan.

Finally!!! I can walk at almost 16 months!
So Dan and I decided that we needed to go to the temple so while Whitley was on spring break from school we went down to Columbus. Whitley played with Ian all day while we were gone. The funny thing is that that day she taught him to walk. When we left he wasn't walking at all and then when we got home he was literally doing laps around the house. It was so cute to see him walk. It's funny too because he doesn't know how to get back up on his feet, so if he falls, and he wants to walk again, he will whine until someone puts him on his feet again. so these clips are of his first day walking on April 8th, 2009.

Look, I can climb the steps!
Ian has been crawling around the house since he was 9 months, so we decided we would teach him to crawl up and down the steps. We still keep the gates up because he is not totally proficient at it and probably won't be for a while. But it's his newest thing now and because of that he wants to do it ALL the time.

Almost walking
Here are some pictures of Ian almost walking. He still has to use his walker because he is afraid to do it by himself, and he still has a hard time turning his walker, so sometimes we still have to help him with that but he is starting to figure that out too. It shouldn't be long here before he is finally walking. As of now he is 14 months. You can tell here that he still doesn't bend his legs, they are stiff when he walks! It's so funny to watch!

He is also getting a lot more hair, just since his birthday he has really grown a lot of hair. I'm glad because he seemed like he had hardly any for so long. Now that he's getting hair he is starting to look more like a little boy instead of a baby! Time flies by so fast. Pretty soon our baby will be all grown like Whitley!

Tub Time!
Ian absolutely loves the bath! I think he just loves water in general. He doesn't however, like to get his hair washed. He also sucks on everything in the tub. He likes to suck the water out of the washcloth. His favorite toy in the bath is the rubber ducky which there are now many bite marks in. He likes how it squeeks. I have a feeling he is going to love going to the pool this summer.

1 year Dr. Checkup
Today Ian went for his one year Dr. appt. Here are his stats:

Height: 31 inches (85th percentile)
Weight: 20 lbs. 14 oz. (25th percentile)
Head: 46 cm (40th percentile)
This little man eats everything. He has gotten more and more picky, but sometimes he eats more than I do at breakfast and dinner. He eats most at breakfast. He acts like he has been on a starvation diet through the night while he is sleeping. Every morning he will usually eat half a cup of yogurt, a bowl of oatmeal, and a piece of toast, and don't forget the water. He doesn't really like milk, so we just mix his oatmeal with milk so he gets it but doesn't know. He drinks a lot of water though. He is a very good eater when he wants to. We have found that he will eat more if you put it on his tray so that he can feed it to himself, otherwise he may get mad and not eat. He has a little temper on him though. He is starting to show it when he doesn't get what he wants. Here is some pictures that we took on his birthday.
